Calling on our governments to advance fair, just, and impartial treatment for all New Yorkers of African descent, starting today.
“The delivery of equity to people of African descent in the United States of America is fundamental to advancing and promoting their inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and to address the historic and systemic abridgement of those rights.”

Focusing on the safety, economic, health, educational, and social conditions of New York City’s African-American residents
This focus is now necessitated by the urgent need for preventing the ongoing destruction of African American communities, and to set the stage for African Americans to be assured that their basic needs — their personal, family and safety needs — are not continuously or systematically thwarted.
Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities
The Equity Initiative calls on our next New York City Mayor to deliver an agenda that advances the consistent and systematic, fair, just, and impartial treatment of all individuals, including individuals who belong to underserved communities that have been denied such treatment.
